The Math department has just completed conducting 2 workshops on Model Drawing over the weekend. The first workshop focuses on model drawing for the lower primary syllabus while the second workshop highlights a few examples of word problems that can be solved by model drawing.

Model Drawing Model Workshop for Parents
Hi Everyone,
The Math department will be conducting two Math workshops on Model Drawing tomorrow, 30th July 201(Saturday). The first workshop is meant for the lower primary syllabus while the second workshop is targetted for parents with pupils studying in the upper primary levels.
As part of our effort to reach out to parents who are not able to attend the workshops, the slides used will be posted on this blog.
We hope to have the slides posted by early next week.

Holistic Assessment for Primary 1 pupils in 2011
In 2011, P1 pupils in 2011 will not be sitting for the usual SA1 and SA2 exams. In short, no exams.
As a replacement, EDP is embarking on what we called our EDP Whole Year Assessment.
What does this mean?
The pupils will be assessed throughout the year. There will be various forms of assessment. To replace the termly examinations, we now have:
Diagnostic Tests
Math Journal
Performance Tasks
Topical Tests
In term 1, as pupils are familiarising themselves with primary school life, the assessments will not be included into the overall marks at the end of the year.

Performance Task 1(Shapes and Patterns) - 5%
